Watch Your Plate..

A diet that's rich in foods that are high in protein and low on carbohydrates can increase the risk of kidney stones and reduce the body's ability to absorbs after just six weeks. In a study at the University of Chicago, researchers found that six weeks on a high - protein diet increased the acid load to the kidneys, raising the risk of stones. Such diets are enjoing a revival, but although they result in weight loss in the short term, they are less successful long term and can even be hazardous.
